As someone fascinated with the ninja movies of the 80s & Hong Kong movies of the 90s, Scott Adkins' new interview series on YouTube has been a most welcome quarantine companion.
A few of my favorites so far have been his interviews of Mark Dacascos ("Only The Strong"/"Brotherhood of the Wolf"/"John Wick 3"):
Cynthia Rothrock ("Yes, Madam!"/"The Millionaire's Express"/"China O'Brien"):
J.J. Perry ("Mortal Kombat"/Bloodsport 3"/"Haywire"):
And Gareth Evans (Director of "The Raid" series with Iko Uwais):
Hope everyone is keeping well!

Happy Birthday to Mavis Staples—a true national treasure. Been listening to one of my all-time favorite performances (from Martin Scorsese's documentary "The Last Waltz") to celebrate.

Sadly this was never released because Liam was absent with a "sore throat." Noel channels the resulting frustration into an energetic performance.

This is all I've been listening to at my desk lately.
I knew this show took place because "Linger" was included on my Very Best of MTV Unplugged import, but I'd always wondered what became of the full recording. Glad to learn it wasn't lost to time and bootlegs.

Arnold McCuller, Bobby King, Terry Evans, and Willie Green, Jr., bring the cold-war gospel.
From Les Blank's "Ry Cooder & The Moula Banda Rhythm Aces: Let's Have A Ball," shot at The Catalyst in Santa Cruz, CA, on March 25, 1987.
The Soul Stirrers also recorded this tune, but the above arrangement is closer to that of The Pilgrim Travelers.

Eldrich King, Terry Evans, and Bobby King, ladies and gentlemen...
